Management and Care of Your Stallion
 The stallions at Bowman Ranch, LC are treated like the patriarchs that they are, with the finest care and accommodations in the industry today!

 Each stallion will be groomed and exercised daily according to their specific needs. Their feed programs will also custom fit each stallion to keep them at their peak performance both in and out of the breeding shed.

 The stallion barn will have 14+ box stalls, each with a large window to allow a lookout for the stallions and to provide exceptional ventilation. Each stall will be equipped with automatic waterers and a climate controlled environment.

 There will also be ample room for exercise for the stallions with our turnout options, which include a covered turnout for bad weather as well as several 2 acre “stud proof” paddocks.

 The stallion barn will also include a wash rack/breeding preparation room. This will allow the stallions a “locker room” to be washed and prepared for collection in the breeding room. The breeding room will be a safe and secure collection site for your stallion, and after collection each stallion will be given the rest of the day to relax in one of the paddocks.

 After the semen is collected from the stallion, it will then go to the lab where it will be evaluated and prepared for insemination. The insemination of the mares will occur in a completely separate barn, providing protection for the stallion from exposure to possible infections and such.
 

EVA Requirements
 PLEASE NOTE: Effective immediately, all horses transported to Bowman Ranch, LLC for ANY purpose must have documentation of a negative EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis) test within 30 days of arrival or documentation of an EVA Vaccination from your veterinarian a minimum of 30 days prior to arrival. Collection and evaluation of semen for on farm breeding or Shipped Semen
 Aside from stallion management and collection; Bowman Ranch, LLC will also provide comprehensive semen evaluation and preparation. These services include fertility evaluations, semen motility and morphology, as well as overall breeding soundness exams. The semen will be evaluated to measure the gel-free volume, the sperm motility percentages (total and progressive) and the concentration of sperm in each collection. Once this procedure is complete, we can insure the correct management of each stallion’s semen and the pregnancy rates resulting from his semen.

 If the semen is being prepared as “fresh” semen for on farm shipping, we will insure there will be at least 500 million progressively motile sperm in each dose, for each mare. This semen like the semen prepared for shipment will be mixed with a semen extender, which will also be evaluated for compatibility with each stallion’s semen.

 Shipped semen will also be prepared with extender; however we will insure at least 1 billion progressively motile sperm in each dose. Once the semen is prepared for shipment, it will be packaged and sent out via FedEx Overnight Priority Services. We can also offer counter-to-counter services for same day delivery to mare owners. We will do our best to find a flight out of the Greater Cincinnati Airport to your location as needed. We understand the urgency when counter-to-counter is required, however we will need at least 24 hours notice to accommodate all customers fairly.
